Since the Beginning
Founded in 1944 by Don and Howard Shaw, Shaw Electric has truly been a family owned business since it began. In 1983, Shaw Electric was acquired from Robert and Donna Shaw and their two sons Robert Jr. and Steve. Since that time, Shaw Electric has expanded working with commercial, industrial, medical and institutional projects.
Shaw Electric has seen large growth over the years due to their hard work and commitment to their customer, causing them to expand their operations. Industrial Automated Systems (IAS), founded in 1985, has been providing professional automation services to its many satisfied customers for several years.
In 1988, Donna Shaw oversaw the start up of Light Expressions by Shaw and is now run by her son Steve Shaw. Today, Light Expressions is a household name for new lighting fixtures and is a leader in the industry. Light Expressions’ first showroom was opened in Davenport, Iowa and followed by the Coralville location in 1993.
Light Expressions continues to provide exceptional customer service for lighting needs in the Quad Cities, western Illinois, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Muscatine, and surrounding areas.
